VISION RESOURCES AUDIO SERVICES is a reading service programmed for individuals who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print impaired. Audio Services can be heard twenty-four hours a day using any WIFI connected device – cell phone, tablet, and computer – via streaming on the Vision Resources home web page, www.vrocp.org. Programming is also available on Amazon Alexa. Access by saying, “Alexa, enable Vision Resources’ Stream”, after that simply ask Alexa to play Vision Resources’ Stream.
The program schedule provides in-depth local news, information, content of interest and music. Occasional schedule changes are made to reflect program specials, such as interviews, and holiday programming. Recently the schedule has been updated to better meet the needs of listeners. Most requested offers include the Patriot News/Penn Live, Pharmacy Ads, and Grocery Ads.
InSight Interviews air on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:00 p.m. and repeat at 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the following day. This program features interviews of attorneys, doctors, people with disabilities, authors, and others conducted by VROCP.
You can listen to or download our podcasts by visiting the homepage at vrocp.org. Select “Listen Live”, select “Podcast Options” and then select which podcast you want to hear. We will be podcasting Insight Interviews, Bookworm, Pharmacy Ads, Grocery Ads, Health Notes, Remember When? and Chicken Soup for the Soul. Grocery ads include Giant, Aldi, Karns and Weis Markets. Pharmacy ads include CVS and Rite Aid.
Bookworm is part of our book club where popular novels are read by our volunteers. Bookworm airs every day at 1:00 p.m. and repeats at 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. the following day.
VROCP Obituary Line
Audio Services is also responsible for providing the telephone Obituary Line Service. This service enables callers to dial 717.213.3648 or 1.855.861.2483 and listen to an up-to-date listing of complete obituaries as published by the Patriot News.
VROCP houses a lending library open to the public including books on CD, Braille Books, Large Print Books and Descriptive Audio DVDs.
We have the ability to produce and duplicate your informational CD or flash drive.
