About Us

Vision Resources serves - Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Perry counties.

Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania is celebrating 95 years of providing services for people who are blind and visually impaired. Throughout the last nine decades, we have never wavered in our commitment to deliver those services with the highest level of professionalism and to treat our clients with dignity and respect.

Our core services include our prevention of blindness programs like the preschool and adult vision screenings. We also provide specialized services such as bill paying, and door to door transportation services for clients that are visually impaired that help them to remain independent and living in their own homes. Last year, we served over 16,000 people in the community.

Over the years, we have continued to expand our services and programs, in the 1990's Vision Resources added: Computer Technology Training Low Vision Aids Services and a Necessity Store stocked with products designed to encourage independence.  In this past decade we have added: Franklin County to our service area for Prevention and Specialized Services, Custodial/Lawn Care to the Business-to-Business services Since 2000, we added Photo License ID to the Business-to-Business services, Summer Camp for kids, and teens who are blind/visually impaired, No-Cost Eye Clinic to serve the needs of the uninsured, an Eye Wear Shoppe stocked with low cost and no cost eye glasses and opened a Vision Rehab Center specializing in Low Vision Care.

As we look to the future, it is our intention to become a comprehensive provider of services for people who are blind/visually impaired. It is our goal to "be recognized as the premiere resource for services that prevent blindness and maximize opportunities for individuals who are blind and visually impaired and to ensure that we do so in a way that makes a difference in the lives of the clients we serve.
